My life is full of books. For many years I designed book covers, working as a graphic designer at various ad agencies to create a visual version of the stories hidden between the covers. 

 

When I check into my studio in the morning, I know this is the place to be. There is a special mood that sets in as soon as I start working with paper, glue, paint... and books. I love the smell of old books. The books have so many stories to tell. The words on the page may tell one story — while the yellowing paper and tobacco-stained fingerprints sometimes tell a different story. And I feel very lucky when I get to use my hands and my eyes, my visual intuition and artistic creativity, to shape these old stories into new ones.
